This practical, work related qualification is comparable to A level standard. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations and activities. You will study a range of units such as Computer Systems, IT Trouble Shooting, Communication Technology, Computer Networkng, IT Technical Support, CompTIA A+.

Four GCSE passes (grade C or above) in relevant subjects; or a BTEC first Diploma at merit grade or above; or a Level 2 qualification in IT.

Students who successfully complete the two year course can progress to university to study for a degree for example the Kingston University Foundation in ICT for E-Business. Others may go directly into employment in a systems support role.
