BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport
2 year full-time course
This is a sport and work-skills study programme that features the game of Futsal as a unique enrichment tool and creates multiple career progression pathways. After the first year, you'll achieve the 90-credit Diploma. By completing the second year, you'll receive the full Extended Diploma.
The Level 3 Extended Diploma is the equivalent to 3 A-Levels. In total you'll complete 19 sports related vocational units. These include:
Sports coaching, sports development, fitness testing, performance analysis, current issues in sport, practical team sports, nutrition, sports pyschology and anatomy & physiology.
There are also BTEC Level 1 and Level 2 study programmes available.
Who is the course for?
Boys and girls aged 16-18 who have an interest in football, and are wanting to either work in the Sport & Active Leisure industry; progress into Higher Education; or potentially play Futsal professionally.
Soccer AM: Futsal Explained
As part of the programme, you'll complete several hours of Futsal training and conditioning, as well as participating in the national Futsal games structure. The NCA Futsal Super League is organised into regional divisions, with match days taking place once a month. The top sides from each region will qualify for the national Grand Finals in Birmingham.

Our unique programme features the world's first dedicated Futsal coaching syllabus. It's also taught using our bespoke Virtual Learning Resource, meaning that you can complete work modules online from your electronic device and at your own pace. This also means that tutors can assess your work online, meaning that the blended work environment is tailored to your individual working patterns as well as the timetabling and study resources of your education provider.
As part of this programme, you'll also receive free entry onto the FA Futsal Level 1 Coaching course as well as having access to further Futsal coaching and refereeing opportunities.

Level 3 requires 5 GCSEs at Grade A*-C, including Maths & English
Level 2 requires 2 GCSEs at Grade A*-D
Level 1 has no specific entry requirements
Online marking and assessment of coursework and modules using our Virtual Learning Resource (a platform called 'Inspire').
@Futsal Group will cover the full cost of this course.
Multiple progression pathways including employment in the rapidly expanding Sport & Active Leisure Industry, Higher Education (i.e. University) and also playing Futsal either at home or abroad.
It also presents opportunities for Futsal and Football coaching and refereeing, plus work experience opportunities with @Futsal Group.
As part of this programme, your group will also participate as a team in the official National Colleges & Academies (NCA) Futsal Super League. This will involve monthly match-days at Swindon Futsal Arena, with the regional league division feeding through to national Grand Finals, as well as a cup competition.
