UAL Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Art and Design (Games Design) at Bury College

Course description

Depending on your career aspirations and qualifications you will either complete a one-year diploma or two year extended diploma. These courses are suitable if you have a passion for games and app design, games character design, 2D and 3D animation, illustration, social media design and construction. Games designers are often responsible for the overall game concept, planning the story, characters, environments, rules and levels. These courses will give you the opportunity to realise your creativity in the exciting world of games design and animation/illustration. You will explore your creative potential in a hands-on environment using our modern Apple Mac suite and using a range of dynamic software applications. In addition to developing your IT and software development skills this course will provide you with the knowledge and practical skills required to progress into this competitive industry. Course content will also develop your drawing skills as you learn how to visualise your ideas through practical workshops.

Entry requirements

You will need at least five GCSE grades A*-C to include Art or Design, English and maths at grade 9-4 (A*-C) or a Merit on a BTEC / UAL Level 2 Diploma and a Level 2 English qualification. Please note – applicants who have a passion for Art and Design but who may not have had the opportunity to study an Art and Design GCSE at school will be considered for a place on these courses at interview along with suitable example of work.
