UAL Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Art and Design at Bury College

Course description

Depending on your career aspirations and qualifications you will either complete a one year Diploma or a two year Extended Diploma. We can discuss this with you at your interview. Both courses are aimed at developing creative Art and Design skills which will enable you to pursue successful careers in the Art and Design world. In the first year of the course you will develop a broad range of skills to give you the knowledge and confidence to specialise in your chosen Art and Design discipline. This will allow you to build your confidence to make independent creative decisions. On successful completion of the one year Diploma you will have the opportunity to further your studies and progress onto the second year and work towards achieving the Extended Diploma. The Extended Diploma is equivalent to three A Levels and allows you to achieve the UCAS points you require to progress onto Higher Education, Apprenticeships or Employment. These courses are intended for those who wish to pursue a career in Creative Design and the Arts and offers a broad introduction to this exciting and dynamic field by giving you the underpinning knowledge and skills required to be successful. Throughout the course you will be encouraged to explore a variety of creative skills and techniques through both course led briefs and live brief opportunities. These courses are designed to encourage you to make confident informed decisions and judgements regarding your work and how best to develop your creative skills in a positive independent manner, leading to visually exciting personal responses. You will need to possess sound artistic ability, good communication skills and the desire to express yourself creatively.
