Bricklaying Level 1 Diploma at Bury College

Course description

The Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying is designed to prepare you for entry into the industry as a trainee bricklayer. The qualification teaches you about the techniques used in all aspects of basic brickwork and has been developed for delivery in a training environment that reflects real working conditions. Approximately 60% of the course is based in the workshop and 40% is theory. The course comprises: general core units, brickwork specific units, practical assignment and multiple choice unit end tests. There will also be an opportunity to develop skills in a different trade, e.g. tiling or plastering. You will also carry out a two week work placement as part of your studies as well as opportunities to be involved in external projects which will enhance prospects of employability.

Entry requirements

Maths and English 9-3 (A*-D) plus one other GCSE.
