Media Studies GCSE at The Sixth Form College Colchester

Course description

The course encourages you to take a closer look at the media and to develop a critical understanding of how it works. The course is assessed by coursework, which includes practical production work, and a final examination on a specific media topic. Production work covers skills such as video editing and desktop publishing.

Entry requirements

These are one-year courses open to AS and AFP students and are normally 5 lessons a week. Most of these GCSEs are studied with the objective of entering students for the Foundation or Intermediate tier of the GCSE. Some subjects willenter students at Higher Level and this will be important if you are thinking of taking the subject to AS Level in your second year in College.
