Personal Training Level 3 at Itchen College

Course description

You would like to take an additional course to complement your sports studies.

This course is for you if...

...you are a qualified fitness instructor and would like to become an expert in the health and fitness industry.

...you want to gain practical experience working in the health sector.

Course content

This course will give you the skills and knowledge to be a personal trainer working in a gym environment or one-to-one with clients whose goals are to improve health, fitness or sporting performance. You will also be able to work with patients with medical issues. These qualifications will give you excellent prospects of gaining employment within the relevant fields of industry.

Students will have the chance to work with and develop clients’ and patients’ health, fitness and/or sporting performance goals. Students will gain excellent experience working with clients from programming their fitness, motivating and changing behaviour, nutritional advice and initiating new and innovative exercises. 

Entry requirements

Level 2 Fitness Instructor is required.

Additional guidance is available at interview. 

Assessment

Multiple choice exams, worksheets, case studies and practical observations.

Future opportunities

The qualifications gained from this course will give you the skills and knowledge to work in the health and fitness industry as instructors and trainers, professional sports clubs, self-employed personal trainer as well as a good grounding to go into higher education.
