ICT OCR National Certificate Level 3 at Bullers Wood School
This modular course provides an excellent extension to vocational ICT courses studied at GCSE. This qualification is designed to offer you an alternative route into higher education or employment.This course has been developed to recognise learners’ skills, knowledge and understanding of Information and Communication Technology functions, environments and operations. The learners carry out a range of tasks that have been designed to recognise their achievements in a modern, practical way that is relevant to the workplace. This is a two year vocational qualification equivalent to 1 A-Level Syllabus Year 12: Unit 1 – Digital Business Communication Unit 2 – Collaborative Working Unit 5 – Advanced Spreadsheets Year 13: Unit 3 – Problem Solving Unit 4 – Creating a Digital Showcase Unit 6 – Advanced Databases How will I be assessed and examined? The syllabus contains 100% practical work. You will be required to produce six pieces of coursework in which you will use standard software packages such as Desktop Publishing, Spreadsheet, Database, Presentation Software, Web Page Authoring and Word Processing. There are rigid deadlines to be met for each piece of coursework.
Students need to gain 5 A*-C GCSE grades OCR National/BTEC Merit.
The OCR Nationals in ICT level 3 offer students a more in-depth look at ICT in the modern workplace, and give an insight into its role in specialist careers.
