Course description

This four-unit BTEC Certificate offers a specialist qualification that focuses on particular aspects of employment within the Sport, Fitness and Leisure sector. As such the Certificate offers a qualification which can extend the study and provide vocational emphasis for learners also following an A Level course. The BTEC Certificate offers a focused qualification for students who wish to follow a shorter programme of study that is directly related to their work experience, or to an aspect of employment that they wish to move into in the future. The course involves a large amount of practical activity. Students should be regularly taking part in sport in and out of school to allow them to be successful. Students will be expected to take a full part in practical lessons, unless excused through illness or injury. There are many opportunities to work independently, completing background reading, research or recording findings.
