Course description

This is a very enjoyable and interesting course that examines issues that are up-to-date and influence society. The course will allow you to find out about new places and environments. It involves practical work outside and provides the opportunities to experience a wide range of skills. It is a subject that allows you to enquire and find your own answers. The Geography course focuses both on Physical and Human geographical issues. The environmental theme runs right throughout the course as well. In addition, Geography will improve your skills by providing opportunities for problem solving, the use of research on the Internet.

Future opportunities

You could take this course with other advanced level courses such as Travel and Tourism or Health and Social Care, to prepare for higher education in areas of geography, humanities, science or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go on to a job related to geography and work as a Town Planner, Environmental Officer or Weather Forecaster. The course also helps you to develop the basic skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for.
