Physics at The Sixth Form College Colchester

Course description

Physics is concerned with the way the universe is organised and the laws that govern its physical behaviour. It covers topics such as the structure and behaviour of matter and energy in its many forms. Much of the work is mathematical in content.

We offer the OCR B syllabus Physics course. This 'advancing Physics' course has been developed by OCR in conjunction with the Institute of Physics. It offers a mix of traditional physics and some more contemporary aspects such as imaging, communication and quantum physics.

Entry requirements

The course requires GCSE grade A (or 7) or above in MAthematics and either a grade B or above in GCSE Physics or grade B or above in both GCSE Core and Additional Science. All students are expected to take the AS Level Mathematics course to complement their studies in Physics.
