Students are assessed using written assignments and practical assessments.

This course is designed for those who are interested in a career working in the fishing industry. Students will learn a wide range of skills which include course, game and sea angling as well as habitat creation and management.

Course content

Here are some examples of the types of modules you can study:

  •   Introduction to fish health
  •   Game and course angling
  •   Fish biology
  •   Freshwater sport fishery management

Entry requirements

For entry onto this course, we require students to meet one of the following criteria:

  2 A-D grade GCSE’s (ideally including English and Science)

  A relevant Level 1 qualification 

  Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy

All students will be assessed for their suitability for this programme at interview.

Facilities Fee: All students - Non-Residential = £120, Residential = £200

    • The main Plumpton College site is located at the foot of the picturesque South Downs National Park. Six miles from Lewes, the County Town of East Sussex.

      The College specialises in providing a wide range of land-based courses in partnership with schools, for those in further education and for those in higher education. The College degree courses are validated by the University of Brighton.
