Business Studies AS Level With Economics at The Sixth Form College Colchester

Course description

Business Studies aims to make you think critically about business. Business Studies at this level encompasses many disciplines and covers different forms of organisation and business activity. The course integrates ideas drawn from various disciplines, including Economics, Accounting, Law, Government, Sociology and Psychology. Economics looks at how societies deal with scarcity of resources. It applies theories and concepts to current issues such as inflation, employment, international trade and the way markets work.

Entry requirements

GCSE English Language and Maths: minimum B grade in one and grade C in the other. As well as a grade B or above in at least one predominantly written based subject (English, English Language,English Literature, History, Religious Studies or Sociology). Students are not required to have studied this subject at GCSE, but will be expected to have a good level of numerical and written skills.
