Course description

The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism is a 1 or 2 year industry qualification designed to provide you with a solid understanding of Tourism and the additional skills needed to progress onto the next level or secure employment! As part of this course, you have the unique opportunity to experience the real world of Travel and Tourism, working in our brand new full service Travel Agency – SGS Travel!

Course content

This is a flexible course in which you can opt to study either a one year Diploma or the two year Extended Diploma (which is equivalent to 3 A Levels). The list below contains a snapshot of the core and additional units you will study:

• Investigating the Travel and Tourism industry

• European Destinations

• Long Haul Travel Destinations

• Business Travel Operations

You will also complete a Residential Study Visit to

an European Destination

Entry requirements

You will need 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above or an equivalent Level 2 qualification including English Language and Mathematics


You will receive continuous reviews, along with full and regular feedback from your tutor to ensure you are on track and ready for your next step. Feedback will be verbal, written or electronic and is all designed to support you on your course and help you.
