Course description

This course as an opportunity for students to develop and show a knowledge and understanding of the world of designing and making. This is coupled with designing and making quality outcomes. The Course aims to develop an awareness of industrial processes and manufacturing techniques that underpin the manufacture of products. With this there must be an awareness of the responsibilities of designers to humankind through an increasing knowledge of the potentials and hazards inherent in technological advance. A’ Level Design and Technology is an increasingly respected course that gives students experience of applying their knowledge in a practical way. Often the research elements of the projects link closely with Science and Mathematics while the creativity of designing allows students to expand their graphic and ICT skills.
