Course description

In Textiles you will study the fashion route looking at past, present and future designers gaining inspiration. Textiles is about the creation of new fashion garments that people will buy. It includes appearance and function, design, decorative techniques, styling, and needs the balance of Manufacturing and Creativity for its success. Styling and function are crucial to commercial success, and through Textiles you will gain a thorough understanding of the processes involved in turning ideas into attractive and useful garments. Shape, colour, user perception, usability and sustainability are just some of the elements you will learn to work with. You will be at the forefront of the next generation of ideas, concepts andprototypes, and you will develop your creativityand technical expertise.

Entry requirements

Candidates must have a grade B or above at GCSE Design and Technology (Textiles).
