BTEC Sport at Moseley Park

Course description


For students who have a real interest in sport and the sport industry and wish to progress to employment in sport related industries. This course will provide a broad knowledge and understanding in a variety of areas ranging from Anatomy and Physiology to Health and Safety.

Course content

The course is completed over 2 years. The students will study mandatory and optional units to make either 60 or 120 credits. Some of the units covered are:

  1. Principles of Anatomy & Physiology in Sport
  2. The Physiology of Fitness
  3. Risk Assessment in Sport

Students also have the opportunity to complete different Level 1 coaching courses. Students will also gain the ‘First Aid’ qualification when they study the Sports Injuries Unit. Students are also given the opportunity to complete the Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership.

Entry requirements

BTEC Level 2 Sport to Merit or Distinction grade or GCSE PE at grade C or above.
