Course description

This Level 3 Diploma in Travel & Tourism provides you with the vital skills needed to enter employment within the industry. Travel & Tourism covers a wide range of employment opportunities in the fastest growing industry in the UK. It includes jobs in airlines and hotels, with tour operators and travel agents or involving tourist attractions, conferences and events, hospitality and entertainment. This type of work can offer exciting careers to those who like meeting people, want more than a routine job and are interested in travel.

Course content

You will study units including:

  • marketing travel and tourism products and services
  • the UK as a destination
  • responsible tourism

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade A*–C including English Language, or Merit at an appropriate Level 2 Diploma, including English Language at grade A*–C.

Assessment

Continual assessment of all units with internal and external moderation.

Future opportunities

There are lots of different options to continue your studies after level 3 qualifications. These include specialised vocational degrees , Honours Degrees (usually 3 year courses, although they may include a sandwich year on work placement).

It is very important to find out about all of your options after you have completed your course. Some careers will require specific qualifications and training for you to work in the sector, whereas other jobs and careers do not have a set training route.

You may also choose to apply for an Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3) or Higher Apprenticeships (Level 4/Foundation Degree). Information about apprenticeships can be found at the National Apprenticeship website - you can search and apply for apprenticeships there. You then complete ONE application form, which you can use to apply for any Apprenticeship.       The College is easily accessed by less then 10 minutes drive from both the M25 and M11 motorways.

      We’re also a 5 minute walk from the London Underground at Debden Station on the Central Line, 
      and we’re a 10 minute cab ride from Chingford Overground rail station.

      Once you arrive at the College there is a free car park with over 250 spaces, 
      as well as designated areas for coaches and other large vehicles.

       

      Once on site you can have access to our catering facilities (subject to agreement) and a range of rooms, 
      from our Theatre, with 264 retractable seats, to a standard classroom.

      We also have full IT support, and can offer rooms with either Macs or PCs running the latest industry-standard software.
