Art and Design - BTEC - Level 3 at Bolton St Catherine's Academy

Course description

The whole of our manmade environment has been shaped by creative risk takers who have had the vision to design, build and decorate. Art challenges our ideas so that we can stretch our imagination as well as offering practical skills to carry forward into valuable careers.

Course content

BTEC Level 3 students study a vast array of disciplines from drawing and painting, photography, textiles and computer based design. You will learn to analyse and interpret the work of other artists through critical studies and in turn develop your own skills and ideas.

Entry requirements

Preferred 9-5 in GCSE Art or Distinction* - Merit in BTEC Art & Design Level 2



The BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma is delivered as six units of work. Typically, these are split over the two year course with three units being taught in year 1 and three units in year 2. There are no examinations but in order to achieve the Subsidiary Diploma all units must reach at least a Pass level.
