Forensic Science BTEC National Diploma at Riverside College Halton

Course content

In this course you will study the science, law and psychology involved in the investigation of crime. You will discover how laboratories are managed and how different forensic techniques can be applied to solving crimes.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above including maths, English or science.

Assessment

You will produce a portfolio of assignments based on the 18 units of the course. Assignments are graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction level. There are no exams.

Future opportunities

You could progress to a BSc Hons degree in Forensic Science or related fields of study. Following this you could enter employment as a laboratory assistant in the police force, or the science industry.

Further information

Enthusiasm for study and a good sense of humour. Lab coats and safety glasses will be provided but you may wish to purchase your own.
