Photography - BTEC Level 3 at Bolton St Catherine's Academy
Photography is a highly creative and practical subject which provides opportunities for work with both traditional and digital media. Students explore how photography is used to convey messages and meaning, developing their cultural understanding and perception of the world around them.
Students are introduced to a range of photographic media, techniques and processes including darkroom photography, digital imagery and studio lighting. You will be expected to respond to given briefs and themes, you may go out on location shoots and manipulate images with specialist software to develop and communicate your own ideas.
Preferred 9-5 in GCSE English and Mathematics
AS Level Photography Unit 1 - Coursework Portfolio Unit 2 - Externally Set Assignment Each unit = 50% of AS/25% of A Level (80 marks) A2 Level Photography Unit 3 - Personal Investigation Unit 4 - Externally Set Assignment Each unit = 25% of A Level (80 marks)
