Business - Apprenticeship in Customer Service level 2 and 3 at Kirklees College, Huddersfield Centre

Course description

Customer service is a vital part of everybody’s role when working in an organisation. Large or small, all businesses must recognise that the customer is king and an apprenticeship in customer service reflects this crucial role.

Course content

You must have an employer to support you through your apprenticeship and give you time off work to attend college. Many people find their own job or are already employed but if not, college staff can help you find employment.

 

The Apprenticeship will include:

Intermediate Apprenticeship

  • Knowledge based qualification - level 2,
  • Competence based qualification - level 2,
  • English - level 1,
  • maths - level 1,
  • Employee rights and responsibilities.

Advanced Apprenticeship

  • Knowledge based qualification - level 3,
  • Competence based qualification - level 3,
  • English - level 2,
  • maths - level 2,
  • Employee rights and responsibilities.

Entry requirements

Intermediate Apprenticeship (level 2)

  • An initial assessment indicating that you are working at level 1 and you are able to achieve level 1 English and maths within one year,
  • you should demonstrate an interest or knowledge of working in the vocational area and wish to take up a career in the relevant industry, and
  • good communication and problem solving skills.

Advanced Apprenticeship (level 3)

  • A level 2 qualification English and maths at 4 or above

OR

  • An appropriate level 2 Apprenticeship, or
  • GCSE grade A*-C in maths, and
  • GCSE grade A*-C in English or an initial assessment indicating that you are working at level 2 and you are able to achieve level 2 English and maths within one year,
  • experience of working in customer service,
  • good communication and customer service skills, and
  • you should demonstrate an interest or knowledge of working in the vocational area and wish to take up a career in the relevant industry.

Assessment

At college and in the workplace. You will need to take exams for the technical certificate and Functional Skills elements of these Apprenticeships.
