Course description



Providing a fantastic introduction to all aspects of biology, this home study IGCSE course gives you the opportunity to learn about the science behind life, reproduction, the environment and much more. You'll look at how different forms of life function, ranging from single-cell organisms, bacteria, plants and fungi, right up to the complex biological systems found in animals. If you want to study biology at A level, or just have an interest in the natural world, this distance learning course is perfect for you.


You should allow for between 120 and 150 hours' study time, plus additional time for completing assignments. You will have tutor support for a period of up to 18 months from the date of enrolment.

This course is entirely self-contained so no additional textbooks are required.

Part of the course involves completing a number of simple, fun experiments which have been designed to be easy to carry out in your home. No laboratory access is required.
