Art at Launceston College

Course description

What will I study?

Two periods of your non contact time will be spent in the art block working on projects andresearch for the history of art each week. You will seek out the art staff during these times for advice.

You will do five hours homework each week using your sketchbook as a visual notebook.

Your projects will use a wide range of materials and imagination.

What skills do I learn?

Painting, drawing and 3d sculpture skills.

You will be aware and active in the subject away from school and in your own time. Each termyou do one project.

Your sketchbook will be shown to the art staff each week in practical lessons.

Entry requirements

You need a minimum of grade C in both Art and English to qualify for the course.

In some circumstances we are able to accept students on the evidence of their folders only (Mature students are very welcome to apply).

A real commitment to the subject is essential.
