English Language IGCSE at Blackfen School for Girls

Course description

GCSE English Language, at C grade, is a minimum entry requirement for many further education courses and for employment.  The iGCSE is an internationally recognised alternative to the GCSE studied at KS4.  It is designed to develop essential lifelong skills, including creative thinking and problem-solving. Students are enabled to become effective learners and this course provides a solid foundation for their continuing educational journey.


Course content

  • One written paper


  • Three pieces of coursework


  • One speaking and listening task

Entry requirements

This course is offered to students who have not gained a C grade or above in GCSE English Language  All students must continue with level 2 English if they haven't gained a C or above at GCSE.
