First Year (AS) :
BTEC LEVEL 3 SUBSIDIARY AWARD
Unit 1. Child development (double unit with exam)- learn how to help children’s physical, intellectual, social and emotional development
Unit 2. Play in Early Years - understand how play helps children’s development

Second Year (A2) :
BTEC LEVEL 3 AWARD
Unit 3. Meeting children’s physical development, physical care and health needs - find out how to recognise illnesses and meet children’s needs
Unit 4. Health and Safety practice in Early Years settings - be able to prevent accidents and infections and respond to emergencies
Unit 5. Collaboration with parents, colleagues and other professionals in Early Years - develop your communication skills with adults


By the end of Year 12 students will be able to achieve the BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Award equivalent to an AS level provided the exam and coursework is passed.

Entry requirements

Students will normally be expected to have 5 GSCEs at grades A-C including English and Maths
