Media Studies - AS and A2 Level at Nailsea School

Course description

AS Level covers:

Unit 1: Investigating Media - Theories, texts and cross media studies including film and documentary.

Unit 2: Creating Media - Making two linked media products from a choice of externally set briefs with a 1500 word written evaluation.

Additional units for A2 Level include:

Unit 3: Critical Perspectives - Analysis of media texts and essay questions on present topics.

Unit 4: Research and Production - A critical investigation on a focussed media research title with a linked production piece.

Entry requirements

Grade B in English GCSE and Media Studies if taken OR a Merit in BTEC Media if taken.

Complete the holiday task set in Induction Week.

You do not need to have done GCSE Media Studies.

You do not need to own any specialist equipment and you do not need to be an ICT / technical wizard to take this course!
