Business BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at Amersham and Wycombe College
If you want a strong foundation in business studies to prepare for work and university, with special emphasis on accounting and management, then this course is for you.
As well as learning about business studies, you will develop skills in communication, team work, marketing and employability. Aspects of the course will cover leadership, business and employment law, human resource management, event management and starting your own business.
The qualification will cover 18 units of 4 Core, 4 Accounting and 4 Management units. These include:
Managing a Business Event.
Starting a Small Business.
Introduction to Marketing.
Recruitment and Selection in Business.
Aspects of Contract and Business Law.
Year 1 course = 90 credit Diploma
Year 2 course = a further 90 credits providing in total a 180 credit Extended Diploma
4 GCSEs at grade C or above of which one must be English or Maths OR successful completion of a Level 2 qualification including a pass at English and Maths.
You will be assessed through various methods including written assignments (reports and essays), presentations, work based assignments, assessed activities (managing an event) and group and team work.
Stationery. Other items may be required but your tutor will advise you throughout the course.
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diplomas are the equivalent to 3 A-Levels and are valued by employers and higher education. You can progress to employment, university, starting your own business or onto specialist programmes such as AAT Accounting. You will develop skills in all aspects of business in readiness for employment, with a ‘can do’ attitude, sound theory and skills application experience.
