Product Design A-Level at The McAuley Catholic High School

Course description

Product design is a fascinating course with a wide and exciting range of design project possibilities and with many varied career opportunities. The course provides a good balance between theory and practical, and is suited to those who would like to pursue a career in areas such as manufacturing, 2D and 3D design, architecture product design.

Entry requirements

Minimum of Grade ā€˜Cā€™ or higher in GCSE Product Design, resistant materials or Electronic Products). Others by agreement through Curriculum Leader.

Future opportunities

There are a vast range of degrees which link directly to this electronics based A-Level qualification available at many Universities throughout the country. Here are just a few:-

BA (Honours) Product Design
BSc (Honours) Architectural Technology

The high end of the design industry remains a world leader in Britain. There are many degree courses that can be followed in design, with a large number of job opportunities. A wide variety of businesses have design departments. Specialist areas of design include product, promotion, industrial and interior.
