Sport & Exercise Sciences Certificate at Birmingham Metropolitan College (BMET)

Course description

If you have a passion for sport and love learning about how science can be applied to sport then this one year course is the one for you! You can choose this course to study as part of your AS programme and it fits best with subjects like psychology, biology or physics. You will study three units and learn all about the body and how it is structured in order for us to take part and perform in sport. You will also learn about how the body responds to exercise and how the mind has a huge influence on our performance in sport. If you study this, or any of the college's sport courses you will also be able to get involved with the assorted college Sports Academies where you can train and perform in your chosen sport alongside your academic study.

Entry requirements

You will need 5 GCSEs at grade C or above including science, English OR maths.

Assessment

This course is 100% coursework - there will be no formal examinations. The course will be assessed through written reports, presentations and practical assessment. .

Future opportunities

You can progress to university or into a job working in the sports industry.

The campus includes a state of the art library and learning resource centre, a performing arts theatre, an industry standard design studio as well as laboratory and sports facilities.
