Beauty Therapy: Level 3 City&Guilds Diploma at NESCOT

Course description

Full-time Beauty Therapy VRQs are for those who want to become qualified Beauty Therapists. The main part of your programme  consists of underpinning knowledge and understanding alongside the development of practical skills within a salon environment treating paying clients.

Course content

By taking this study programme you will build on your practical skills within a salon environment, treating fee-paying clients. This course introduces more advanced treatments, including electrical facial treatments, body massage, body electrical treatments, hot stones massage, Indian head massage, anatomy and physiology. You will continue to build your Maths and English skills as you prepare for employment or further training, and ou will also develop key skills such as communication and information technology.

You will be assessed through a variety of techniques such as oral questions and on-line multiple choice questions. Your assessor will also watch you working to assess your performance in practical skills and activities

Entry requirements

Level 2 Diploma in Beauty with the majority of grades being Merit or above plus English and maths and a satisfactory reference from your tutor.

Future opportunities

With NVQ Level 3 you will be able to seek employment as a Beauty Therapist in a variety of settings such as a beauty salon, health and leisure centre, hotel or a  cruise liner. You will also be able to progress to more advanced courses or training.

Further information

Students will be expected to purchase their own materials for the course, including uniform, make up kit and book. These can be ordered at the beginning of the course from nominated suppliers at a cost of £250.

    • By Road:
      Nescot is located just off the A240 (Reigate Road), close to the junction with the A24 (Ewell Bypass).  The College is just five miles inside the M25 (Junction 9).
      There is a large, free car park for use by students and visitors.

      By Rail:
      Nescot is served by two mainline railway stations.
      Ewell East (Southern Railway)
      Ewell East is a two-minute walk from the College from a public footpath leading off Platform 2.  Trains run every half-hour from London Victoria.
      Ewell West (South West Trains)
      Ewell West, which is 15 minutes walk from the College, is on the main line from London Waterloo.
