Motor Vehicle Level 1 at Malvern Hills College
This course is ideal for students who wish to complete the full Motor Vehicle training programme to become a qualified motor vehicle technician. Maintenance and repair is a major part of the motor industry and this course provides the knowledge and practical training to cover these industrial requirements.
Practical training in the College’s modern and well equipped workshops on all aspects of maintenance and repair work including: vehicle power units, cooling systems, brakes, steering and suspension systems, tyres and exhausts.
The theory of Service and Repair is covered in conjunction with practical workshop activities.
Students will also study Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT.How will I be studying?
The course is a mixture of practical and theory work which makes use of the College’s workshops. Theory work is structured to complement the practical work and includes a variety of different learning experiences.
Entry to the course is by initial assessment and a successful interview.
2 GCSEs grade D to G or entry Motor Vehicle qualification.
Applicants should have a genuine interest in Motor Vehicle Engineering to ensure success on the course.
On successful completion of the Level 1 course you can apply to join the Level 2 course.
