Course description

The qualification is designed to develop and assess functional ICT at Level 1 as determined by the functional skills standards Level 1. The qualification and assessment are intended to enhance skills application and deployment across a range of contexts. The functional skills qualifications will provide a platform to further achievement through the development of fundamental, applied skills in key subject areas. The knowledge, skills and problem-solving approaches contained within the qualification provide tools that can be utilised in work, life and further learning. This qualification will encourage learners to demonstrate their lCT skills and are essentially concerned with developing and recognising the ability of learners to apply and transfer skills in ways that are appropriate to their situation. Functional skills are recognised as vital to learner’s personal development, increasing both confidence and effectiveness. Minimum Credit required for the Award: 5 credits Unit Assessment Methods: - Task-based controlled assessment

Entry requirements

Subject to funding; Maths and English assessments required to join this course. You need to be able to read the workbooks and follow instructions. - Must be 14-15 sponsored by Schools & LEA - Must be 16-19 and have left compulsory education or NEET - Proof of residence in UK/EU/EEA - Child refugee - Non-EU National whose parents or guardian have been granted the right to remain and work in the UK
