Music Certificate at Carlton le Willows Academy

Course description

The syllabus is very flexible, and can be tailored, to a certain extent, to individual needs. Current units include:

 Performance Techniques and Practice,

 Solo Performing and

 Music Project management.

Other units could be included to develop interest in:

 Music technology,

 Composing or

 Stage management.

Students have to learn an instrument, prepare 3 solos and 3 ensembles and maintain a practice diary. Credit is given for understanding how to master different techniques, know of a range of study material for your instrument or voice and also perform confidently and accurately.

Entry requirements

C grade in Music. If you have not studied music before, you will need to demonstrate a very keen interest in music and the music industry and be prepared for a performance test before being accepted on the course. The ability to sing or play confidently and be willing to improve your instrumental or singing skills will be essential.
