Music Technology at Trinity School

Course description

Music Technology comprises two units:

Unit 1 - Music Technology Portfolio

Unit 2 - Listening and Analysing

For Unit 1 you will learn and develop a

number of music technology-based skills,

which will include MIDI sequencing, multitrack

recording and arranging music using

Cubase 5 in our studio suite.

For Unit 2 you will study and learn about the

styles most common in popular music during

the 20th Century. Within this you will complete

an in-depth study of two of these styles

(Rock ‘n’ Roll and Hip Hop). You will use your

practical knowledge of recording in a studio to

identify how music has been created.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including a

Grade C in GCSE music. It’s also useful if

you play an instrument.
