English Literature GCE AS/A Level (OCR) at St Francis Xavier 6th Form College (SFX College)

Course description

English Literature is a versatile, challenging subject, combining well with a number of other A Level subjects. You will need an ability to write essays, a willingness to read and a fascination with the use of language in a variety of literary contexts.

Entry requirements

In addition to the minimum entry requirements you will need a grade B in GCSE English Language and grade B GCSE English Literature. Applicants with a grade C in English Literature may be considered subject to availability.

Future opportunities

An A Level in English is key for progressing onto studying English-based subjects at university. English is useful for career paths including journalism, law, copywriting, the civil service, librianiship, politics and teaching.
