Spanish at Launceston College

Course description

Our chosen syllabus (AQA) accommodates the linguistic level of students newly qualified in GCSE, concentrates on developing oral fluency and conversation skills in AS/A2 speaking tests provides a range of stimulating and absorbing study topics with contemporary, literary and cultural content, explores translation skills and advanced grammar to provide useful tools for further study.

You will gain:

 Lasting appreciation of language and learning

 Ability to comprehend Spanish in a wide range of contexts

 Ability to communicate readily for a variety of purposes

 Useful knowledge of and insights into Spanish-speaking cultures, both contemporary and historic

 Valuable skills for foreign travel, further education and employment. Students who do Spanish are invited to join our annual visit to Santander in Northern Spain.

Entry requirements

Minimum of 5 GCSE at C or above, preferably including Maths & English.
