Course description

History is all about people and the way they lived in the past. In this course you will get the chance to explore the 16th Century in both Britain & Europe.

AS LEVEL

English History

- Henry VIII to Mary I 1509-58. A study of government and religious change in a time of great upheaval.

European History

- Luther and German Reformation. A study of the effect of radical religious ideas upon individuals and society.

A2 LEVEL

English History

- Rebellions in the Tudor years. In-depth analysis of the causes of the rebellions and of Government reactions to them.

European History

- Philip II of Spain - the history of the super power of the 16th century

Entry requirements

The minimum requirement for a GCE AS/A2 course is 6+ grades A*-B at GCSE or equivalent. For a student to study at GCE AS/A2 a subject that they studied at GCSE they must have achieved at least a grade B in that subject at GCSE where the subject requires previous study
