Creative Writing AS/A Level at The Open Academy

Course description

Do you love writing? Do you want to develop your writing skills in new and challenging ways? Whatever you want to write, this course will help you to improve your critical reading and creative writing skills by challenging you to analyse the decisions you make in writing and respond to a variety of stimuli and briefs.

The course is made up of 60% Coursework and 40% Exam.

During the course you will experience a wide range of opportunities to develop your writing. The academy will work closely with different organisations and writers to help develop your style.

You may progress to study English or Creative Writing at University with the aim of writing professionally in the future, or may pursue careers in a variety of fields where highly developed communication skills are valuable.

Entry requirements

Students following level 3 courses will require 5 Cs or above. You will need GCSE grade C in English Language and GCSE English Literature.
