Art at Arnold Hill Academy

Course description

A Level Art allows students to creatively explore art techniques, skills and materials. Students are encouraged to explore ideas and decide for themselves the direction of their work and how it develops. Students produce a portfolio of work and are able to take part in workshops, trips, exhibitions and art classes. We follow a broad, unendorsed course of study encompassing painting, drawing, mixed media, printmaking, IT, sculptural and photographic techniques.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE passes Grade C or better including English Language and Mathematics.

It is recommended (but not essential) that students have studied GCSE Art & Design and, if they have done so, they should have attained a grade C or better..

It is recommended that students who have studied the BTEC Art & Design course have achieved a merit or higher in order to meet the demands of the post 16 course.
