Fashion / Textiles

Explore the world of Design and Fashion. Students will build a portfolio of their own designs and will make several items of clothing using different techniques. The year will finish with a Fashion Show of their creations.


Caring for Children


BTEC Entry Level 3 and Level 1 Caring for Children are recognised qualifications, which can lead to GCSE in Health and Social Care or Child Development.


Includes educational workshops once a term i.e. First Aid, Police in the Community and Healthy Eating.

Course content

Fashion / Textiles

  • Communicate through art and design and make use of a range of materials, processes and techniques
  • Make patterns and construct garments using the sewing machine and overlocker
  • Dye, print and change the surface of a fabric before making garments
  • Historical and contemporary fashion and designers
  • Careers in the fashion industry

  • Keeping children safe
  • Children learning through everyday experiences
  • Caring for children 0-4yrs
  • Play and learning 0-4yrs

Entry requirements

14-18 year olds

Financial information

£1,500 per annum per student. Cost includes lunch and trips.
