Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship at Siemens PLC

Course description

Whilst being a predominantly mechanical apprenticeship, there is a requirement to cross-skill into electrical work and this is reflected in both college and placement content. After the first year of college block release, the programme will allow apprentices to experience work in a broad range of departments and roles within the DF&PD CS business but primarily at the spindles service facility in Handforth.

The placements will be arranged so that relevant knowledge is built up, giving the apprentice the experience necessary. In addition to academic learning, in-house training programmes will also be provided to enhance product and application knowledge.

Entry requirements

For an advanced apprenticeship you should have, or be expecting a minimum of four GCSEs or equivalent at grade C or above including:

 Maths • English • Science

Other relevant higher level qualifications such as A levels, NVQs and Diplomas are required for a higher apprenticeship.
