French A Level at Lymm High Voluntary Controlled School
AS: media (TV, advertising and communication technology), popular culture (cinema, music and fashion), healthy lifestyles (sport, exercise, health and holidays) and family and relationships (family, friendship, marriage and partnerships)
A2: the environment, immigration and integration, racism, poverty and wealth, technology and the future, as well as a book and a historical topic. Throughout both years of study there will be an emphasis on grammar and translation, as well as focus on listening, reading, writing and speaking.
A grade B at GCSE French on the higher paper for both listening and reading. 5 GCSEs at A*- C or equivalent.
There are 2 exams at the end of year 12: 1 exam comprising listening, reading and writing, and 1 oral exam. There are a further 2 exams at the end of year 13 which follow the same format.
