History A Level at Stationers Crown Woods Academy

Course description

The sort of student who wants to examine today’s world by investigating the past. You have an interest in current world issues and politics and how these have been shaped by past events and decisions.

Course content

An interesting and demanding course that will develop lots of transferable skills such ascommunication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
We study:
Unit 1.Civil Rights in the USA. Vietnam and Korea.
Unit 2. Women and the suffrage question.
Unit 3. Superpowers relations 1945-1990.
Unit 4. Germany: United and divided 1890- 1991.

Pupils sit 2 examinations at the end of Year 12, and complete one exam and one piece of coursework in Year 13.

A minimum grade C in History
