Photography AS/A2 at St Margaret's Church of England Academy
- The course at both AS and A2 Level requires students to develop the skills to complete one coursework unit in each year of the course. Topics range from fashion to surrealism and students are required to study a variety of different genres, techniques and styles within each topic. Students use critical studies books to record their research, experiments and thinking about photography. They function as visual diaries and provide much of the evidence for assessment at the end of the course. All students have an A2 professional folder to present their work for moderation and take to interview. Coursework 60% / Exam 40%
- Department Resources CS6 Adobe Photoshop on all computers within the school network. A high specification A3 scanner. Colour and black and white laser printer. Canon 1100D digital SLR cameras. A fantastic collection of photography books.
Minimum grade C at GCSE Art / Graphics is essential as well as a passion for the subject. Students may be required to show pieces of their GCSE work if the course is oversubscribed.
