A Level: French at Bosworth Academy

Course description

Contemporary society topics (eg education, the media, the environment, immigration) as well as grammar. You will learn to communicate on a variety of topics in various registers and format. You will learn about French society and culture and speak with native speakers. You will develop your skills in reading, speaking, writing and listening and have lots of fun! 

The way you will be assessed is still being finalised but you will likely have

-3 papers;

Reading  and listening comprehension with translation

Translation and essay writng on a  film and  anovel from a set list of texts and films

Speaking 

Entry requirements

Grade 6 or above in French.

Future opportunities

You could take this course with other advanced level course or equivalent to prepare for higher education in French, Languages or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to French or Languages such as a Teacher, Translator, or you may wish to use your French to study or work over in France. The course will also help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for, especially in the travel and tourism sector.
