Pre-Clinical at The Sixth Form College Colchester

Course description

Pre-Clinical is a vocational support programme aimed at any student hoping to follow a medically related career (Medicine, Dentisry, Physiotherapy etc.). It includes study,, in an accelerated manner, of BTEC level 3 Health and Social Care Certificate. The units studied cover issues such as the Hman Lifespan and Development and Meeting Individual Care Needs. Students need to be committed to carrying out research and working independently. It provides an opportunity for personal development and is potentially a very valuable addition to the academic programme. 

Entry requirements

Students pursuing a medical career will need high grades in GCSE Sience (A or A*  grades) and Mathematics, as well as a minimum grade B (or 5) or above in at least ne predominantly written subject (from English, English Language, English Literature, History, Religous Studies or Sociology).

It is also essential that AS Biology and AS Chemistry are two of the AS levels studied alongside Pre-Clincal.
