Business Studies AS/A2 *Fees payable* at Sheffield High School
Every organisation, no matter how big or how small, experiences similar problems. It needs to make the correct decisions about its present and future activities: organise itself internally so that it is able to achieve its objectives, market its products, motivate its people and manage its finances. All of this must not only be done within the constraints of the organisation but must take into account the political, legal, economic and sociological forces within the UK, the EU and the global market place.
The subject can be taken by anyone whether or not they have studied Business Studies at GCSE. There are no special requirements, just an interest in the subject area and a willingness to become actively involved in the course. Most students would describe the course as interesting and worthwhile, though very hard work. A high proportion of students continue Business Studies related courses at university.
The course is modular. This means it is divided into six smaller units (see below). These are examined in January and June of Y12 and Y13.
Marketing; Accounting & Finance; Operations Management; People; External Influences; Objectives and Strategy.
Studying Business Studies offers a very diverse range of disciplines that might be studied at University such as Business and Administration, Business Studies, European Business Studies, Accounting and Finance, Marketing and Human Resource Management.
