What is the Course About? What chemical reactions occur in the human body? Why do some substances react when others do not? What is the atmosphere made from and what causes the ‘greenhouse effect’? How was the periodic table decided? How do we know so much about the atom when we can’t see it?These are just some of the questions that are answered in the A Level Chemistry course taught at Norton Hill.Chemistry is a practical subject and there are many opportunities to develop your practical skills. In Year 12 and 13, you will be required to use these acquired skills and complete a range of different tasks, all supporting and using your understanding of Chemistry.
Grade BB in GCSE Additional/core Science or Grade B in GCSE Chemistry, a grade B in GCSE Maths.
