Course description

What is the Course About? What chemical reactions occur in the human body? Why do some substances react when others do not? What is the atmosphere made from and what causes the ‘greenhouse effect’? How was the periodic table decided? How do we know so much about the atom when we can’t see it?These are just some of the questions that are answered in the A Level Chemistry course taught at Norton Hill.Chemistry is a practical subject and there are many opportunities to develop your practical skills. In Year 12 and 13, you will be required to use these acquired skills and complete a range of different tasks, all supporting and using your understanding of Chemistry.

Entry requirements

Grade BB in GCSE Additional/core Science or Grade B in GCSE Chemistry, a grade B in GCSE Maths.
