Football Academy Diploma Level 3 (Female) at Birmingham Metropolitan College (BMET)

Course description

Over a million women and girls play football regularly up and down the country and over 22,000 females have successfully attained FA Coaching Qualifications in the past few years. Stourbridge College has created a Female Football Academy, providing a level playing field for women. Our Female Football Academy combines the opportunity to develop your football skills and achieve a recognised sports qualification. You will study in newly refurbished classrooms at the Centre of Sporting Excellence, Brintons Field in Kidderminster and will train four times a week on the same pitches as Kidderminster Harriers First Team. To study at the Female Football Academy you will need to apply on line and you will also need to take part in football trials as part of your application process.

If you love sport and learning about how to improve your performance then this is the course for you. Building upon what you have learnt at school, this one year course will mix both the practical and theoretical aspects of sport and develop your understanding and knowledge across a range of subject areas. It will both challenge you and inspire you to learn more about how you can develop your own sporting performance and that of those around you. Throughout the course you will learn about how your body works and how your mind and thinking will affect your performance. You will also learn about how you can both train your body and test it to discover just how fit you actually are.

Entry requirements

You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at grade C or above including English or maths alternatively you will have a level 2 Diploma with Merit or Distinction grade in sport. This course is offered as a subsidiary diploma, 90 credit diploma and extended diploma and you will be placed on the right level for you following your interview.

Assessment

This course is 100% coursework - there will be no formal examinations. The course will use a range of methods including written reports, presentations, practical assessment, analysis and Group work.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of this course will enable you to continue your learning and development within higher education or to seek employment within the sport and leisure industry. We offer a variety of Higher level courses including Football Business Management & Coaching Foundation Degree and Sports Coaching Higher National Diploma.
